In this week’s programme: In today’s Gateway to Africa we look at whether the annual Tourism Indaba which took place in Durban recently was successful in terms of visitor and exhibitor numbers. Cape Town Tourism CEO Mariette du Toit-Helmbold takes us through that as well as the significance of the Digital Media Platform launched at the show for the mother city. The 2010 Transfrontier Conservation Areas brand unveiled during the tourism event is also under spotlight. She answers questions of how Cape Town fits in this strategy, which is an attempt to attract more visitors to Southern Africa as well as whether Cape Town as city is ready for the world cup in 2010. |
